The Space Development Agency (SDA) today issued a final request for proposal for Advanced Fire Control Ground Infrastructure (AFCGI). This solicitation was formerly known as PGI (PWSA Futures Ground Integration).

AFCGI will deliver integrated space and ground elements that will demonstrate advanced fire control missions as part of the broader Advanced Fire Control (AFC) effort.

Based on industry feedback and further internal planning, SDA refined the PGI effort to more specifically focus on infrastructure and mission integration for advanced fire-control prototypes and updated the name to reflect Advanced Fire Control efforts.

The AFCGI acquisition will provide a common, enduring ground infrastructure and resources to minimize cost and complexity for multiple AFC prototype efforts. The efforts of the AFCGI acquisition will be central to the successful execution of the Fire-control On Orbit-support to the warfighter (FOO Fighter or F2) prototype system (targeting launch in late 2026) and future fire-control demonstration programs. SDA expects to post a separate solicitation for Advanced Fire Control mission integration (AFCMI) – focused on mission partner interfaces, sensor orchestration, and data fusion – later this year.
